Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is our most popular massage type. It provides relief from the aches, pains and injuries that we all experience from time to time. While also being very relaxing.

Remedial massage is a varied therapy. This means that it combines several techniques. Such as what we typically think of as a massage coupled with a targeted focus on areas of restricted mobility or pain.

In keeping with this being a varied massage, your massage can be firm or gentle, shallow or deep, or a combination. These aspects of the massage are determined based on your preferences. As well as what issues you are seeking to alleviate. If you are not sure about what you would prefer, you can discuss with your therapist on the day.

What can be treated?

The nature of remedial massage means that aside from helping you relax. It also helps stimulate blood supply to joints and muscles. While the relaxation benefit of the massage helps to relieve stress, in turn, provides a benefit to your nervous system.

A remedial massage may help address:

Migraines and headaches
General stress
Neck and back pain
General aches and pains
Stiffness & pain associated with bad posture
Muscle pain and tightness
Stress/tension related physical discomfort
Acute and chronic stiff and painful neck
Arthritis / multiple sclerosis

Mikael is THE very best masseur I have ever had. He coaches muscles ‘to where they should be’. The result is release of muscles that have been tight for years. He really understands how the musco skeletal system works. He also keeps you informed about what he is about to do. Easy to relate to and highly respectful. I highly recommend him.

Katie is the best! She really listens and asks lots of questions to diagnose your issue, and then goes straight to that area to spend as much time as possible. The massage itself is always lovely and relaxing (but with excellent pressure - I always enjoy hard massages and am never disappointed) with electric blankets and other things to make you super cosy and if it’s possible for her to fix the issue, she will. I could not give higher praise for her work!

Lincoln gave the best massage. I went to get a massage as I had a pain in my shoulder and neck area that had kept me up all night and felt so much better afterwards ... absolutely magic. Rooms are always clean, welcoming and warm also the music softly playing is spot on.

UPDATE [15/05/2026]: Returned for another massage, this time with Hugo, and I was very impressed. He truly knows what he’s doing. His technique is gentle yet effective, working slowly into the deep tissues to release muscle tension. He quickly identifies the painful areas and does an amazing job relieving the discomfort. After my first session, I already noticed an improvement in my posture. During today’s second session, Hugo focused on my neck and shoulders, and the treatment was both relieving and re-energising. I’m planning to see Hugo fortnightly and continue benefiting from his professional care. OLD COMMENT - I always prefer deep tissue and pressure point massages. And this studio has a masseur with a decades of experience who used some traditional massage skills/techniques that provided those always 'sought after' and hard to find massages! Definitely be back for a regular massages!
